Coronation Champions Awards

In honour of Their Majesties’ service to the country, Royal Voluntary Service launched the Coronation Champions Awards for volunteers, an official Coronation project.

Together with Her Majesty Queen Camilla, the awards celebrate extraordinary volunteers across the country who have been contributing to their communities.

Meet the Coronation Champions

500 Coronation Champions have been selected from across the UK.

Recognising volunteering achievement

Thousands of people aged from 14 to 103 from all over the UK and supporting a range of causes were nominated and from these nominations, 500 volunteers were hand-picked by a judging panel presided over by Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and crowned Coronation Champions.

All 500 Coronation Champions received a specially designed, official Coronation Champions pin and a signed certificate from His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla and were invited to attend one of the official Coronation celebrations, such as the Windsor Castle Coronation Concert or a Coronation Garden Party.

What are the Coronation Champions Awards?

The Coronation Champions Awards recognise a diverse group of volunteers from different backgrounds and communities across the UK from a range of causes.

Volunteers over the age of 14 who may have overcome adversity or discovered creative ways to support their local communities within the last five years were nominated in one of the following categories:

  • Supporting older people
  • Supporting young people and children
  • Crisis and welfare
  • Community
  • Sports, culture and heritage
  • Health and care
  • Sustainability and the environment
  • Animal welfare

Meet the judges

Our judging panel, made up of volunteering experts, celebrity supporters and academics, were overwhelmed by the raft of nominations illustrating countless triumphs of volunteers from all corners of the country.

Nominees were judged on their impact on the lives of others, their dedication to volunteering and on how much they inspire those around them.
